Downtime happens between sessions. Your characters are not lazy then but spend their time wisely. For each downtime period choose one of the listed activities. Moreover, at character creation mark one activity as your favored activity. This is something your character relates to. This activity does not exhaust them as much as other things do.
You always recover fortune during downtime.
Recover 5 + your level fortune points unless focussing on recovery or performing your favored activity. In that latter case recover 10 + your level.
Hint: There is one downtime between two sessions. You can also use downtimes between session you didn’t participate in.
Submit your downtime activity to the DM. This can happen in the chat, via mail or using the particular form for downtime activities
Provided level advancement allows you to raise your rank or similar trait, perform one downtime activity for level of advancement
You regularly need to fix the ships or your gear. Typically you succeed at that task. Rolls might be required if the task is not familiar to you at all or to quantify your progress.
Intense rest, can also recover conditions. Note that only with this downtime activity you can recover from conditions like Wounded or Injured. This does not happen with your preferred activity.
Relate to an NPC (which needs to be reachable) to befriend them, turn them into an ally or enemy or obtain important information.
